Front Office wins the 04th Place

Front office won the 04th place after failing to win any of their match during the tournament. Only 04 teams participated in the tournament. Front office also got the fair play team award.

Housekeeping wins the tournament! Congratulations HSK!

Congratulations Housekeeping Team! The Champions!

Housekeeping team won the 2007 Banyan inter-departmental volleyball tournament with a hard fought victory over powerful Launch Section Team. Housekeeping won the match 03 sets to 2. It was not a convincing performance for pre-tournament favorite housekeeping.

Launch section started the match strongly and took the first set 25-13. Housekeepings 13points was the tournaments lowest ever score by a team. However, they managed to win the second set comfortably. Launch section came from behind to win the 03rd set 25-15. Launch section was encouraged by continuous support from the team supporters gathered to watch the final. After unconvincing display housekeeping won the 04th set to send the match to a tie-brake. Housekeeping won the 05th sets by 15-13 points to lift the championship.

Lots of supporters from all the departments gathered to watch the final match and it was filmed by TV crew from Television Maldives. General Manager manager Mr. Jamal handed the trophy to Housekeeping team and gave awards to the tournaments best players.

Both coaches expressed their confidence ahead of the semi final. In the end F&B lost the game and was knocked out of the competition.

Launch section beats F&B to reach Final

Launch section defeated F&B by 3-2 tor each the final of the tournament. Housekeeping was already through tot he final after their defeat of F&B yesterday. The final match between Housekeeping & Launch section will be played on Thursday (05th July).

Before today's match coach F&B Ahamma guaranteed an easy win over boat section in a special interview he gave to Matheen from Media. Head Coach Bosa refused to sit on the bench after some players refused to accept his orders. Temporary coach Ahamma lacked both experience and knowledge to control the game. Launch section took full advantage of the situation and won the match rather easily.

F& B will take on Housekeeping later today!

Tournaments best 2 teams will meet earlier today in the first semifinal match of the tournament. Both teams have met each other earlier in the tournament which housekeeping won comfortably.

Housekeeping is hoping to repeat the same score line today. The winner will be the first team to reach the final of the tournament. The losers will have a second chance to reach the final when they take on Boat Section tomorrow.

Housekeeping have not lost any of their matches so far and are hoping to finish the tournament that way! F&B will be hoping to revenge their earlier defeat. F&B team will be without their team captain Backay due to injury.

Sobra (Same) wins the man of the macth

Same was awarded the man of the match for his superb performance in their defeat against boat section yesterday. Same played very well and shown his best performance so far this tournament. His performance was not enough to win the match and stay in the competition.

He was criticized heavily for his poor performance in their previous two defeats to F&B & HSK. Same failed to take advantage of his height and shot power in his previous matches. Same gave answer to his critics by performing magnificently against boat section.

He is already looking forward to the tournament next year!

Front office knocked out of the competition!

Front office was knocked out of the completion after loosing their match against boat section yesterday! Boat section started the match confidently and took the first 02 sets comfortably. Although front office managed to take the 03rd set, boat section took the 04th set without much troubles. The win guarantees their place in the second round while front office knocked out of the competition after failing to win any of their matches.

Front office started the tournament without their no. 1 coach Zahir (Zagalo) & Amje (apt), both were on vacation. Although Zagalo was back for the match against boat section, there was nothing much he could have done to change already failed, overrated players.

Although boat section lost their previous 2 matches, they have shown excellent performance against all the opponents so far this tournaments. It was not a surprise they won the match against front office easily.
